Much of the climatic features can be attributed to the proximity of the city to the Thar Desert. In the summers the maximum temperature can shoot upto 45°C while in the winters the minimum temperature can drop down to1°C. As the geography of the city goes, Jaipur lies in the eastern part of the state. Sikar and Alwar border its northern parts, Tonk, Ajmer and Sawai Madhopur are its southern borders. In the west the city has Ajmer, Nagaur and Sikar while Bharatpur and Dausa are in the east. Some of the top tourist attractions of the city are Nahargarh Fort, Amber Palace, Jaigarh fort, Jal Mahal, Jantar Mantar, Hawa Mahal, City Palace Museum and Ganesh Temple.
